The 15th Annual Conference of the Society for Higher Education Research (Gesellschaft für Hochschulforschung – GfHf) took place under the motto “University teaching in the field of tension between individual and institutional responsibility”. This time, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the format was changed to an asynchronous online conference. The SIDDATA project also contributed to the GfHf 2020.
The speakers were asked in advance to submit their contributions in video format, which can be watched online at any time. Funda Seyfeli, Maren Lübcke und Klaus Wannemacher from HIS-HE looked into the question of the extent to which self-active studying can be supported by an assistant like SIDDATA. To this end, a total of 36 interviews were conducted at three universities and students were asked what self-active studying means to them and to what extent a digital assistant can support them. With the results, SIDDATA contributes to the identification of the potential for expansion of university teaching, in line with the GfHf conference topic.
